New small Lego town

Ok this is my first try in 25 years at making the beginings of a city. I will add more as I have time. It will also be transferred over to a 15"x15" base one of these days... lol

Long shot

The building with the curves is the Aaron Museum of Modern Architecture or AMoMA

Hope you enjoyed.

I love using the wing pieces... on the condo towers

I like the little Pencil tower.

From way over head... and the shadow of my head

You know I hadn't thought about that, but sure it could be. A museum of what I don't know or maybe a botanical gardens.

It looks pretty futuristic (the city), maybe a high tech science center?

sure! I was only workign with white bricks tonight because they show off the clear bricks the best. Tomorrow if i get a chance I will begin making more with other colors. If you have any ideas or requests I'm up for anything.

Thanks for the compliments by the way

Ok last update of the night. Sleep is a little bit important... lol

The rainbow building was inspired by that hotel in Waikiki... can't remember the name.

Here is an older gritty building...

Its looking good. I like the extensive use of transparent bricks and plates.

Some hopefully constructive suggestions:
1. Get some dark grey or black 2x2 tiles with which to make a street grid.
2. You have white, light grey, and black buildings. An occasional tan, brown, or even red building would add variety.
3. Check out www.bricklink.com
4. If you do get a larger baseplate, you can also put some low-rise buildings on the periphery to create a balanced skyline profile.

Question: does it have a scale? Some buildings use plates and others use bricks for stories (of course some real buildings trick the eye - for example the 40+ story Comerica Tower in Detroit looks like a 20 story building).

Keep on building. I think a city on 4 15x15 baseplates in that scale would look pretty spectacular.

4?? lol I only have 1 and it has a hard back to it. I got it in '79 from a toy store in Beaverton, OR... I think they make the floppy versions now. I really don't have a scale. You are right though I do want to do some smaller buildings. I'm running out of the small transparent bricks.. I will try some things and post some pics later tonight. Thanks for the ideas though!

Watch out or i will model you in legos... hahaha

Ok so here they are moved to the new board, plus a big new tower and a small midrise. I added roads... the dark gray streets are the old part of the city.. the black streets are the new part. I added an elevated rail afer i took the pics. Lots of room to expand now

Lol, ok i really do have other things i need to do tonight.. so here is the last... unless i get a vision.. lol

So I added a river with a small lake. Next is the yellow government building. The old clear block building is the botanical gardens. The small green and white building at the top left got a mid rise addition. Not there are a whole bunch of multi story row houses along the river. I also swapped a couple of the pencil towers to better locations i think. Along the back of the government building you see the elevated rail line. Lastly there is a tallish twin tower red building next to the Shell Tower.
