Funny you should say this. For years San Francisco was called the "Wall Street of the West" and of course it's favorite nickname has been for as long as I've lived simply "the City" which indicates urban density. San Francisco was sprouting skyscrapers long before most of the other western cities were so it should be a city that comes to your mind when you think of skyscrapers and dense downtowns.
