I was swear I was just thinking about getting an ice cream sundae when I came across your yummy photo.

All these shots are awesome. Such a good eye for everything.

Your photos make you wanna eat the food, talk to the people, ride the trains, and reminisce at the great architecture of Colorado blvd.

Great photos, King. The Crown City looks all nice and shiny. That said, I'm curious as to why Old Town Pasadena pops up here so often. While Old Town does have some nice rehabbed buildings, it seems to have the soul of a shopping mall.

Great photos.

Do you know how long I've been waiting to ride the new stainless steel (Breada) model?

Its been about three years since I first seen them delivered to them to LA. So they are just now using them, man I want to check them out.

^ I don't think they're streetcars. They're LRVs.

Though you're right in that they're NICE!

Head further east on Colorado and it becomes less mall-like, though just as urban.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with an area that has more chains. From your faulty logic, SoHo and Union Square would be considered nothing more than over glorified shopping malls as well. Ridiculous.

Nevertheless, Wonderful pics! I love Pasadena. Beautiful.

I think that there is so much wrong with a beautiful area filled with chain stores. It would be very easy to compare both Union Square and Soho with "over glorified shopping malls" right down to the mallrats. There are many great neighborhoods in NY - Cobble Hill, Astoria, Bensonhurst, and Forrest Hills to name a few. Truth is, with chain stores taking over Manhattan (they're the only retail that can afford the rents) you have to look to the boroughs to find the soul of the City.

Back to Old town Pasadena. Take a look at the photos of Colorado Blvd. Not a single person lives in the space above those shops. Kind of like a mall, no?

Regardless... amazing photos, King. You capture Los Angeles beautifully.

Amazing pictures as always. The upper levels on many structures are quite decorated, very pleasing.
