Remember the bare wall aren't there for long. When it gets higher they're putting glass, look at the renderings.
Up to floor 36-40.

If the bottom portion is dreary and the top portion is spectacular, then on average the building is just ok. We will just have to wait and see.

Let me provide a vaguely plausible but ultimately rubbish explanation for the blank walls on the lower portion: It is the developer's attempt to contextualize the design, the blank walls being modeled on the blank walls of other buildings that anticipated future construction.

Then again if that is the actual explanation..

You know what, the way I see it, it's not the best new building going up in Manhattan right now, but it could be a lot worse. I actually happen to like the lower part of the Sixth Avenue facade. It's pretty cool and unique.

What an odd building. It's like they took 101 Warren, value engineered it, then stretched the glass crown some 30 stories. I don't quite get it (and I LOVE 101 Warren).

Eh... it's a curious building, for sure... Got some dreary parts but at least the material quality is nice. Not sure what to make of it yet, but id doesn't look downright bad IMO. It's one of those cases where you just have to wait to see the thing finished before a final definite judgement.
