Favorite towers in Alberta

There has been some discussion of this on the Edmonton photos thread, so I figured it would be more appropriate to start a new thread. Lets NOT turn this into an Edmonton vs Calgary thread, everyone should have gotten that out of their system with the thread earlier this week. if you want, maybe you can post your favorites from each city.

my favorites for Calgary (and Alberta, Sorry e-town) are:

1 Bankers Hall
2 Canterra
3 TCPL
4 Nexen
5 PCC

Honourable mention, Western Canadian Place

The four blinkers southeast of Edmonton and that other radio one in the NW Industrial area in Edmonton, near that CFRN station.

Sorry, not familiar with some of those Calgary towers. Can you post pics to go with this thread? (and yes, I'm too lazy to look them up on emporis)

As posted in the other thread:

Edmonton:

ING- Agree with Cold- that is a beautiful tower.. too bad it is not more visible
CN- Love the deco style and concave/convex sides
Manulife- Very blue... looks good from most angles
Bell- a very commanding building
Scotia Place- I like how the two buildings interact... a nice example of twins

Calgary:

Canterra... like it for the same reasons as Manulife
Petro Can... a very attractive building
Nexen... Bold & angular
TCPL... Personal preference, just 'cause I've got have a personal stake in that building
Was thinking law courts for #5... but I really haven't spent much time in C-town since it went up... I'll have to reserve # 5 for future...

As plain as it is, Nexen is probably my current favourite. Centrium, Arriva and Manulife, and PCC would be up there too.

However, my top five favourite in Canada wouldn't even be from Alberta.

1) Canterra
2) Manulife
3) Bankers Hall
4) Western Canadian Place/Husky Oil (I love the PEZ dispenser)
5) CN Edmonton & Scotia Center Calgary (Tie)
5.a) Bell Tower Edmonton (It stands tall, alone, mostly, it's a nice box)

Scotia Place Edmonton should have been 2x it's height, then I would have liked it more.

I've got pix of my Edmonton five... not the best quality (some are a bit dark), but you get the idea:

ING

CN

Scotia Place

Bell in the forefront

And of course Manulife

^Scotia definitely looks like it was meant to be twice as tall. What a combo that would've been; two towering golden nuggets. Heh.
