Now that is 'market-responsive' parking provisions. Great stuff, and good looking project.

Ah yes that was upsurd. First we have City Hall wanting to save NPS from winter shadows, and now we have to deal with Queens Park from buildings that might show up behind it in photos.

Thanks for posting that image Travis.

It's sad to see WZMH stoop to this kind of crappy condo architecture. They developed probably one of (if not THE) finest buildings of the 70's. In a perfect world I'd love to see a contemporary reinterpretation of Royal Bank Plaza on this site.

WZMH haven't been a relevant architectural firm in decades. It's puzzling to see the firm that designed Scotia Plaza and Royal Bank Plaza generate to this level. I checked out their portfolio and all of their recent projects are horrendous.

The former greats in this city have definitely fallen. Zeidler went from one of the most influential to designing dreck like Trump and RCMI. Northgrave is another firm which has been around for decades but is now notorious for its forgettable new designs.

I'll concede that Trump is dreck, but RCMI isn't bad at all, at least in my opinion.

Yeah, that was a bit harsh. It's a decent design and a good density/height builder for the area.

I don't think I'm going to like Trump until it's complete and is lit up at night.

Wellington Condos - 9 floors

Here is the location (Wellington between King and Soeur-Grises in Old Montreal): http://g.co/maps/n5k65

It looks like it is on the site of old buildings (that are worth keeping/restoring IMO). I can't say I am in favour of this generic project (ugly even) being built in this prime location.

Montreal has some fantastic new mid-rise condo designs but this one is pretty unfortunate. A tragedy to lose historic buildings for such lame and dated looking architecture. Those old buildings have character and would look nice if restored.

Anyways, here's a new rendering of Abacus Lofts, Toronto (1245 Dundas Street West)

(scanned quality)

It's nice to see Dundas West feeding off the successes of College and Ossignton.

Yeah, Dundas West has really risen as a hipster hot spot in recent years. There's a lot of great cafes, bars, and restaurants east of Ossington. The Portuguese area is still lame though and the built form is rather underwhelming. A few infill projects to fill in the miscellaneous gaps should greatly enhance the overall streetscape.

This thing sucks. Given its location, it really sucks!! I hope it never sees the light of day.

What is wrong with Montreal developers? Don't they care? Don't they have any vision? Any civic pride? You know for a city that prides itself as being art over capital, eastetics over a quick buck, it sure as hell ain't showing in our recent architecture.
