MIAMI | Metropolitan Miami Complex (3 Towers) | (3) 866 FT / 264 M | 76 FLOORS

Metropolitan Miami Complex = Three towers in the heart of downtown Miami. The tallest, Met 3, will be 866 feet tall with 76 floors. Construction has been delayed several times but is now scheduled to begin this fall. It will be residential. Met 2, an office and hotel tower, is under construction now (groundwork....it's expected to start going vertical soon), and will be 688 feet tall with 46 floors. Met 1 is topped off and will open soon....it's the shortest of the three towers with 40 floors/440 feet. Perhaps the most exciting part of this complex is Met Square, which will be built along with Met 3. It will be a four-story retail and entertainment center which hopefully bring downtown Miami much needed nightlife and vibrancy. Met 2 is expected to be complete in 2009 and Met 3 in 2011 or 2012.

Groundwork is currently being done on Met2. Construction began about 2 months ago and cranes are currently on the site. It is expected to start going vertical in the next few weeks. One it starts going up I'll post a picture......I think you can also get a view of the Met2 site from the Four Seasons Webcam at local10.com (Miami Local News Website)

Met 1 is almost done. And Met 2 it is going up. I haven't heard anything about Met 3, but it seems to be stalled. I used to work in the hotel in front of the site and nothing is been done for a while. However I still have hope on this project.
