I'll ditto the ditto ....

1. Ritz-Carlton - Assuming it uses colored glass ... that said, there are enough black glass towers in Vancouver ... let's try a blue or gold ...
2. Hotel Georgia - Interesting architecture and aqua blue glass
3. One Wall - I like the curves ... and half the glass
4. Shangri-la - Got the height but basically a box and I'm not overly keen on all those thousands of reflective 'pizza boxes' 'taped' on the sides
5. Shaw - Disappointing architecture given it's prominant location

I'm not a fan of the twisty tower trend, but the Ritz is the exeception...it is fantastic!

1) Ritz-Carleton: especially if they use silver/reflective or blue glass (beautiful)
2) Georgia Tower: blue glass
3) Shangri-La: height, I wish the glass was white/blue tint tho like the rendering
4) One Wall: would move higher and outplace Shangri-La if the dark blue glass from the 2/3rds were all the way up.
5) Shaw Tower: I agree with the aformentioned, should have been way taller and way better designed given its location, BEST in the city. The neon adds a touch which is needed in Vancouver but the tower should have been 600 feet or taller.

1)Shangri-la: Has a clean and simple design that doesn't rely on any current gimmicky trends to look classy and stand out. Also, I'm convinced those panels will wow us when completed... plus it will be tall!

2)Ritz: While potentially just following a gimmicky trend (not necessarily a bad thing), it will be beautiful nonetheless, add an interesting new architectural element to a city in desperate need of it, and will make for an iconic and highly visible addition to the skyline.

3)Shaw: Sleek, modern, attractive, prominent, and I love the lighting.

4)One Wall: Will likely remain the sleekest and most modern looking tower in the city for a while with its clean lines and curves. Should age extremely well. Only the Ritz will bring competition to such claims.

5)Hotel Georgia: I'm largely unsure of my feelings on this tower but I know I will have few problems making up my mind once I see it complete with my own eyes. It could be quite impressive, especially with its lighting effects (whatever those will ultimately look like), but it could also end up just looking more like a typical Vancouver condo on steroids.

^Pretty tall, for Vancouver at least, but I just choose what will be Vancouver's top 5 quite arbitrarily, so feel free to comment on anything of significance that I didn't mention.

yea, if this was a top 5 tallest of new constructions only, then jamison house would be right after ritz.

I'm voting Shangri-la right now. I've got to say that I'm really impressed with how it is turning out. It's an unique design with fantastic colour combination. The choice to have lights on the outside only help this building's originality. I can't really think of any other building in North America that looks like this one.
