Yeah, that's kinda what I meant. But what gives though? More bizarre, is when they're reflecting that cool colour of golden bronze, all of the squares reflect properly.

I think someone mentioned elsewhere on here that some of the paint on the reflective squares was peeling off.

I suppose that wouldn't be surprising if what I've heard of the shoddy workmanship of the units is true.

Shangri-La is a nice highrise (though I cannot understand that prodruding "box" thing). However, that whole piece of Georgia Street will be all the better if/when the Ritz-Carlton gets built, as sort of a "counterpoint" to Shangri-La. Having just one very tall is a bit hokey, although we realize this is just a transitory phase in the city's construction history.

I agree, that 6 story box thing makes it look worse. It would look so much sleeker and sexier without it.

Is that new lighting on the Shangri-la (vertical white lights)? I noticed it while watching the Today show during the Olympics.

here's a screenshot..

I would have said that's the Patina because I know they did those corner lights along the tower but that's not the right location for Patina, I don't think.

That is Patina with the lights. You can see that it is just to the right of Wall Centre in that shot.

No, that looks too close to the water to be patina. I'm so confused.

Haha...the reason it looks so close to the water is because that shot from Grouse Mountain is taken at a very steep angle.

The Patina lights are not permanent, they're only there for the Olympics (and, presumably, the Paralympics). Actually, if you take a really close look at them, they look like industrial super-sized Christmas tree lights (all on a string). I'm glad they finally put up the fourth string (on the North West corner), it looked a bit odd without it - and to hell with the egg-throwing twit at 1040 Barclay! He's a complete nutter!

It's not, as far as I know the tenant outfit is still ongoing... hence the retractable window washing crane still remaining extended.

Really? I've heard from multiple people that it's a leaky building and people are trying to bail on it~
