Pitchers.

Borrowed a friends Sony DSC-HX100V and snapped a few pictures at his place, here's how they turned out. Presently out of photographic commission due to my breaking of my Canon Rebel XSi, going to be replaced soon hopefully! Apologies for the sub-par image quality in these pictures...

Great shots.

Was watching a PBS special on the Seattle World's Fair - and the Planetarium "hat" remonds me of the top of the Space Needle.

Now the completely redone home of a software firm called MaxHire. A friend owns it and I saw the space a few months ago. They did an awesome job.

Interesting. I always think, for a split second, that it's the Talisman Centre in Calgary when it comes into view.

It looks like the 1305 development by Amacon has been renamed to the Modern.

BC Hydro is doing much needed restoration of the Dal Grauer substation. Unfortunately not all the new plexiglass panels will be clear but any thing will be a huge improvement over today.

BC Hydro will be undertaking repair work to the façade of Dal Grauer Substation on Burrard Street, to address safety and station security concerns. The work, which will start in late February or early March, involves:

Replacing the Plexiglas windows with new colourless Plexiglas. Privacy film will be installed on the Plexiglas in front of electrical equipment, but not on the Plexiglas in front of the stairwells.

Cleaning/repairing the building frame and concrete facings.
Repairing/replacing the mosaic tiles on the north, south and west walls of the substation.
The work will take approximately three months to complete. Work hours will conform to City of Vancouver Noise bylaw hours. The work is taking place under a traffic management plan as there may be some minor impacts to pedestrian and possibly vehicle traffic on Burrard Street in the vicinity of the substation.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet - an application to relocate a 259-seat liquor licence has been posted in the window of the new corner unit at Granville and Nelson.

1025 Granville is the Vancouver Central Hostel on the next block south of this site.

It was changed a little over a month ago. With the way the DTES LAPP is panning out it doesn't look like it'll be developed soon, might as well make some money with it.
