Great idea. More daring (if right colour & reflectivity chosen) than making it all-dark-blue glass.... although I think that's what you'll get anyway, if it is changed around.

I don't know what the film is, but there were lots of tween and teen girls around trying to get pictures of the actors.
And I see the taggers have hit the building now that filming is done.

Like a dog to a hydrant, taggers just can't resist the need to unload.

The southside Starbucks at Robson and Thurlow is closing at the end of May due to leasing issues. No more dual corners.

Landlord wants crazy rent, Starbucks doesn't want to pay it. Simple as that.

The landlord also wanted a demolition clause, allowing them to end the lease and redevelop the property at any time.

Forgot about that one. Starbucks new corporate policy is that they will not sign new leases with a demo clause, so I guess the price didn't really matter in the end.

Perhaps the Apple Flasgship moves there? I don't know but it seems like a small space for most retailers.

Combine it with the Red Robin space above and you've got a pretty sweet Apple flagship location. Great exposure, all glass. That could also speak to the demo clause. Just a gut and rebuild to suit Apple. Who knows, just speculation of course.

I think that the style of the building is too dated for apple.

True. I honestly think if Apple is moving into Robson it will be either Robson/Burrard or Robson/Granville.

Apple tried doing a deal there 4 years ago. It fell apart. They would have demoed the whole building (including Aritzia base) and started from scratch. It won't happen on that site.

that building has a low FSR ... there is at grade parking in the back. so a rebuild makes sense in the long run. I could see a 3 or 4 story retail building for a Flagship location of a chain. Apple would be around the right size .... too small for a Simmons or Nordy sadly
