I guess that's in the building that's completed?
Ledingham Mcallister has a sign up on the former abc Photolabs for a project on that block too.

HMV closes in 9 days. Lots of empty shelves and the 2nd floor has already been closed. A lot of stock has been transferred out so selection is limited.

Hearing rumours that Neiman Marcus or Urban Outfitters is going to take over the old HMV spot on Robson.

Neiman Marcus is not coming to Canada, at least not in the forseeable future.

The Vancouver store is always busy though. I don't know, just heard rumours from retail buddies. I just hope something good goes in.

Yeah, I had read the same thing.

Quote:
Urban Outfitters Inc. (URBN) fell the most in three years after saying Glen Senk resigned as chief executive officer and that co-founder Richard Hayne would take over to try to reverse the retailer’s yearlong profit decline.

...

The operator of Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Free People stores is turning to its co-founder after net income declined for four straight quarters.

Nood is closing down their gastown and north van locations. Their website still lists Victoria and Calgary but doesn't mention the closures here. I saw the ad in the Straight today.

They used to be the only game in that 'hood and were literally a licence to print money-look @ the demographics.

I actually walked by that location twice this past week but never stopped-this despite receiving some sort of flyer/coupon in the mail here in Kits.

SDM is yesterday's store-always charging more than everyone else and it seems there's one every few blocks all overcharging while London Drugs throngs with customers despite having fewer stores.

Crossposted in the Suburban forum, but Marshalls confirmed for the Brentwood Mall redevelopment.

On Shape Properties' website:

EDIT: I blame Shape's website. And the overuse of "High Street". Thanks SpongeG.

There are posters up in the windows of the TV Towers retail space (the one in the middle of the podium's Robson frontage) for a Mexican restaurant.

Construction is back on at the hotel on the corner of 12th/Cambie - at least in the commercial lots.
The old Jolly Alderman pub is going to become a Yuk-Yuks.
