San Francisco: Canyons, the Waterfront and More

Mission Street's developing canyon got me thinking about its status related to some of the more mature canyons around downtown. Thus, I've been exploring more of these lately and took my camera long the other day. I also found some older miscellaneous photos I had forgotten about. I hope you enjoy them.

First, my inspiration: Mission St. just before sunrise.

Battery St.

Sansome St.

Montgomery St.

Another look at Battery St.

Looking up California St.

Looking down California St.

The California St. wall adjacent to the 101 California plaza.

Looking the other way (toward Market St.) from the 101 Cal. plaza.

Next are a few miscellaneous density shots:

The Harbor Court Hotel along the waterfront.

One of a pair of new restaurants going in along the Embarcadero.

Some miscellaneous shots I found while looking through my archive the other day. They date from this summer to a couple of years ago:

Residential towers from the Marina Green. Can you spot the very tip of the Pyramid?

The view from Crissy Field on a late summer day.

Dusk settles over the rock.

You might think this is how the Golden Gate got its name.

Another day ends by the bay.

Thanks for stopping by.

Edit: I added a couple of new shots on page 2.

Probably the best SF photo thread I've ever seen. Some of those canyons were on par with Manhattan.

it's eerie how similar SF's financial district and NY's financial district is at street-level.
