Flew into London today and saw the Shard in person from a distance. Looks good.

The French are going to have the Hermitage Plaza in Paris which will be two twin towers 33ft taller than the Shard in 2016! I think the Shard should have been close to 400 meters 1300ft! It would have looked awesome with that pyramid like design! London now needs to think about the next couple of buildings to help London stand out as a capital with the best looking and well designed buildings I think the Battersea site development as well as the Olympic site would welcome the addition of Skyscrapers. Come on Borris/Ken!

The Pinnacle was supposed to be taller than the Shard but it got a height reduction. The Federation Building in Moscow will be the tallest building in Europe soon. Taller than anything else.

It looks more like a modern version of the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco.

You may sometimes kid them but this is obviously not funny. Useless national/local pride douchey comments of that kind are a grotesque embarrassment.

Besides, the Eiffel tower is an observation/telecommunication tower, a historic piece of engineering and a landmark, but it's not a building. It has only 3 stories with huge gaps between them, is that what you call a building? It's not comparable to a building.

Douchey... does that mean the same thing in French? Since douche is French.

Anyways:

It's a beautiful building. Me likee. It really makes Guy Hospital Tower look squat and frumpy.

What's crazy is that up until about a year and a half ago, Guy's Hospital dominated that view. How quickly things change.
