Wow the Shard looks stunning in the dusk! Shame it was not taller! I think it would have looked even better taller - London is a better place with Shard - London needs more buildings like this!
I really love this building for London... can't wait to see it on my visit in Sep., but I have to add that the building just to the right of it is absolutely atrocious. It really detracts from the beauty of the Shard with it being in such close proximity. What a shame.

The 1950's-70's post-war period wasn't the most tasteful era for architecture, and there was much rebuilding to be done. Fortunately I think it's most of the brutalist and boxy crap that will be demolished to make way for the sleek contemporary skyscrapers, instead of old beauties.
