The Calgary Transit Mascot Challenge!

All right, folks--as we all know, Calgary Transit is a little dazed and confused right now with its branding scheme, what with the spiffy new red-platinum-and-champagne livery trying to elbow out the old blue-and-purple colour scheme and all, but finding out yesterday for the first time ever that they even have a mascot at all just cinched it for me. If they really want to get the kids' hearts and minds while they're young, then you'd like to think they'd have a mascot front and centre in their marketing strategy, right? With that premise in mind, I'd like to see what the mood is on the board for some cute, fuzzy, and vaguely anthropomorphic possibilities to include in Calgary Transit's eventual extreme makeover:

Keep Transit Teddy, but fix him up with a spiffy new costume in the new Calgary Transit colour scheme.
Retire Transit Teddy in favour of Archie the Archer, calling dimly to mind the history of the Blue Arrow express service whilst symbolising the process of delivering an object quickly and accurately to one's intended destination.
Retire Transit Teddy in favour of Bronco. Sure, it's horsey and hokey, but at least Super Dave'll like it.
Retire Transit Teddy in favour of Charlie Chinook, to tie in Calgary's heritage and the "Ride the Wind" theme.
Retire Transit Teddy in favour of Peggy Suss, Calgary Transit's manifestation of speed and dependability in the form of a--wait for it!--pegasus.
Retire Transit Teddy in favour of Cthulhu. Probably not overly suitable for the kiddies, but if H.P. Lovecraft's favourite mindfrakking semidivinity won't scare Calgarians out of their cars, who will?

Keep Transit Teddy, but make him less evil-looking. It's the eyebrows man. They just aren't right for a mascot, or anything else for that matter.

Also, switch out his golf cart for a kneeling articulated golf cart with a wheelchair ramp.

I assure most people that no one will not lie down on the tracks, play with,or eat, bombs, throw printers, cameras, cats, holes or squirrels nor will they pretend to have epileptic seigures in the trains.

And the eyebrows are scarry...

But regardless, he's creepy. And the golf cart is even creepier! Seriously, why is it grinning and plotting against me. It's so Dr. Seuss creepy (yes those books creep me out). It's like some kind of kids horror movie. I can just see myself screaming when that thing gets in my dreams. With the transit blood sucking evil bear with it.

Then there's Bronco. He's just so, well for lack of better words, Bronco-like. For the other mascots, all I can say is "Who the hell is that?"

Therefore, in the end, the status quo isn't too bad now. Just make it a lot less creepy...
(But I really want to see them make that kneeling articulated golf cart. I'm tinking somehow kneeling golf cart + trailer made to look like one vehicle.)

Although you have to appreciate their attempt to make it less ignored by making it so bad you read it for laughs (I'll assume thats why it's like that, not that they actually tried to make it "cool"). Incidentally, nice golf cart. No wonder CT employees wanted to strike.
