Fernie would be epic right now. I was hoping Castle would get some of this storm but no such luck.

Castle has got some of it, 20cm yesterday, and 20 cm on Tuesday, 10cm on Monday. Not too bad, definitely not the dump Fernie got though.

And Whistler's getting very little, in comparison. This season has to be their weakest in the last ten years for snow.

I agree that it isn't bad, but nothing like Fernie. On the plus side, with the wind at Castle one is almost always guaranteed fresh tracks.

Here's a handy link for Fernie. This site has saved me many a wasted trip.

Talked to a guy at my gym today who took yesterday off to go down to Fernie. Chest deep, with face shots on every turn. Damn this job of mine!!

Sigh, an another season comes to an end - for me at least. Just finished my annual end of season trek through the Columbia - 5 days - Louise-KH-Pano-Kim-Fernie.

Friday at Pano was probably the best I've ever skied there in 17+ years. Tonnes of powder to start and more snow throughout the day - and never a wait for any lift.

Too bad about those caught in the avalanche today - we skied Taynton the afternoon on Friday and I can understand the dangers!! Hope they're okay.

Anyways, still good snow out there, enjoy it if you can!!

Hoping to get out riding this weekend, probably just to Sunshine though, snow still decent out there? I'm sure there's some pow to be had if I decide to hike for a bit.

I went on Saturday and it was decent. I haven't been to Sunshine in about 10 years, and I was just a beginner when I did, so I don't know much about the place. Good snow off Wawa and some awesome patches on Goats Eye. If you like Glades, there was some great powder still to be had. I think the run I was on was called Chicken glades or something like that.

Last weekend at Marmot we had 25cm friday night with knee deep much of the morning and 10cm Sat night. Best snow I have ever skied in period.

Looks like Sunshine and Louise should have no problem opening on Nov 9 as they are predicting. Looking forward to snowboarding soon!

Getting my cards this weekend! I don't care much for sunshine, but I am stoked for Louise.

I love the snow at sunshine, but Louise has much better terrain, for a snowboarder at least.

Both have great terrain (if you know where to look) but suck compared to places like Fernie.
