Cool CINCINNATI | Great American Insurance Tower (Queen City Square)| 660 FT | 41 FLOORS

Don't know if this towers been mentioned yet on the boards, but this is my first thread anyways, so here goes...

Queen City Square Towers
This complex has been delayed for over a decade, however phase 1 was completed last year and is a sucess. As of July, The Parking Lot which sits on the site for the building has been destroyed. Construction will begin this month on Ohio's tallest building erected in the new millenium. For more info: http://www.ci.cincinnati.oh.us/cmgr/pages/-9221-/

A decade later, and it's still ugly as sin. Blech! Cincinnati deserves better. Much better.

Ugly, hell no. It'll fit in downtown perfectly. I like how the crown on top of the building is meant to rep Cincy as the Queen City

Nope it's not dead. After living in Cincy my whole life (21 years) I've came to realize that it takes the city so long to complete projects, its almost as if they died and came back to life when they actually do happen. (Paul Brown stadium for example) However, I think the city has been more focused on The Banks project than this and rightfully so. Personally, I'd rather have the Banks completed asap before we erect another skyscraper. All that space between Paul Brown stadium, The Freedom Museum and Great american ballpark can't go to waste. Whats the point of all those riverfront attractions if there's no riverfront community (Bars, clubs, apartments and what not)

Very cool. It looks like a building that was cancelled in Hartford some time ago. I briefly visited Cinci last summer and I need to go again, very cool town.

Many posted a few years back how this design would look better taller -- too squat at this height.

This building doesn't look like its 700-800 feet. I don't know why that is, but it just seems to fat to be that tall.

Oh well, good for Cincinnati, even if its not the most aesthetically pleasing building.

I COUNT 35-34 FLOORS (MY EYES HURT) and if you do the math you get under 400 foot on the hight of the floors alone and there is no way that the fancy crest could make up the additional 300 to 400 feet. This looks like 450 feet to me

With the hat, I'd estimate around 40 floors maximum there. Giving a reasonably generous 4.2m per floor and you're still only looking ~170m maximum or ~560 ft.

It looks nice except for the hat. The hat looks more like a bishop and not a queen anyway so I'm not buying the Queen City allusion.

Yea another 10 stories would definatly not hurt. I don't know whats up with Cincy's fascination with shorter, stocky buildings. Imagine if the Scripps Center was 700-800 Feet, It'd look much better, as well as the Carew Tower
