[QUOTE]I don't need to be objective. It's what I like, and I think it's the best skyline in the world both day and night, and nothing is changing that.

"god said it. i believe it. and that settles it."
i read that on an american bumper sticker once.
so i guess you are true to type.
you are right though. you SHOULD be objective. but you don't NEED to be.

but speaking of toronto...which one should ALWAYS be...here's a couple of classic nighttime shots. not sure anyone has posted yet.
not the best in the world.
neither day nor night.
but we like it. we really like it.

Maybe not the best in the world, or best in the US, but one of my favorite cities and it does have an awesome night skyline. I'm with you on this one.

But What About Philly?

I agree that Philadelphia isn't the best out there, but I believe it is one of the better skylines at night. Keep in mind that it has only had a larger number of skyscrapers for 20 years, so it doesn't match up to a New York or Chicago. Additionally, the Comcast Center by Robert A. M. Stern is just about finished and def. adds to the views. I tried to include photos both before and after the Comcast Center was built. Sidenote...unlike many cities, the skyline in Philly is also awesome during the day. Enjoy!

Pittsburgh night skyline looks good. But not the best right now. If the golden triangle got a few more 500 footers that lit up, then the skyline would be a dominant one in the us.

As shown on this thread, most skylines look far more impressive at night. Except that of NYC, which I find is much more impressive in the day, due the scope, depth, variety of its building inventory.

Right now, I wouldn't mind putting Pittsburgh in the top 10.

Thank you to TheOneQuestionIs for sticking up for Philly with those great pics.

The Philly skyline is only getting better with the recent additions of the prismatic Cira Centre (covered with LEDs at night) and the Comcast Center with a supposedly grand night lighting scheme that is yet to be displayed.

I think we have quite a bit of work to do in regards to our night lighting (and that will improve with some of the buildings U/C or proposed) but here's to hoping that we get on somebody's top 10 list...

We do need some improvements with regards to lighting, but I don't want too much. Calgary's skyline is pretty classy at night, if not well lit.

HK has a great night skyline, maybe the best in the world. But, to me, that's in spite of the circus colors it rolls out at night. Hong Kong at night made me feel like I was in Disney World, not a real world-class city. Those lights are gimmicky- why don't they just have fireworks and music playing every night and just get it over with. Maybe a 700 foot water slide. It already feels like enough of a joke.

It's like New York and Chicago are the guys in a nice Armani suit and HK is dressed like Aerosmith in concert.

Give me classy "boring" lights any day.

You can't see Shanghai's half the time from smog... not top ten! I would vote for NYC then Hong Kong.

^Best looking Calgary skyline pic I've seen to date. The CBD looks beefy!
