CALGARY | Eighth Avenue Place | 689 FT / 210 M | 51 FLOORS

The project was originally a two tower project, but the second tower may or may not get built.

As nice as the extra height may be having the second tower, enough twins have been built and unless they modify the design, it is probably better they only make it a one tower development.

I agree, I think one tower looks way better, I'm sick of all the twin towers cheapening our skyline.

as much as twin towers are over done in calgary, I do like the look of Bankers Hall, 8th ave place and Husky Towers all lined up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that both towers get built.

Glad to finally see this one in the construction section. I'd prefer just a single tower.

beautiful renderings, shame that the finished product will look very sterile.

I thought this looked like a Pickard Chilton and I went to the website and I was right. This is a slightly altered design of a never-built Centennial Hill building in Atlanta by them. Glad the design is getting used.

One tower definetly looks better... Too many twins in Cowtown for sure.

Good thing they went with the big tower too!

Yeah, there are more than enough twin towers in Calgary, we definitely don't need any more.

most of us from the Calgary thread are hoping a second tower of a completely different design gets built later. Some sort of mixed use tower.

I'm hoping they go with a silver cladding. I think that would look sharp

I think it would only take some minor tweaking to really make these drab designs stand out which could happen between now and whenever construction commences.

Even minor tweaking in this city means they will have to submit another development permit and have it go through the entire process all over again...

I'm still holding out they'll be better in real life than the rendering. For me alot of it will be the facade materials.

Really? Same height, same density but with some subtle Philly Cira Center lines?

Yep. It has to go back before Urban Design Panel. It's pretty much the equivalent of "back to the drawing board."

Back to the drawing board is the last thing this project needs, it's been 6 years since they were supposed to originally start construction.
