great pictures of one of the UK's most interesting cities - there has been so much redevelopment and regeneration in Liverpool in the last few years - I hope it continues!

Liverpool is European city of culture this year - I think the structure above is a new concert hall, but I'm not 100% sure!

Thanks for all your comments.the building in the picture is the new echo arena a multipurpose venue that holds 10k+.I would love to show all my photos on my post but embarrassingly i haven't worked out how to yet.help!

The Royal Liver Building (sp?) is one great piece of architecture.

I don't remember any of those towers being there last time I was in Liverpool (2001). I absolutely love the converted mills and warehouses.

when Liverpool won the right to be european capital of culture 2008 the developers moved in to make a fast buck.The city is still in large parts a construction site.

Although I have an undying hatred for a certain Liverpool football club, the city is absolutely gorgeous. I love how the old and the new seem to mix together seemlessly.
