Thumbs down Premier's office trashed by APC

This is now getting out of hand:

Premier's constituency office was trashed by protesters this afternoon
Feb, 21 2008 - 2:30 PM

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - While the premier was delivering a speech about the tourism benefits of the 2010 Olympics, his constituency office was trashed by protesters this afternoon.
David Cunningham with the Anti-Poverty Committee says members of the APC stormed Gordon Campbell’s office in the 36-hundred block of West 4th avenue...even though they knew he would not be there.

"Well, he's never really at his constituency office, but why we went to the premier's office was to protest the budget, the lack of any real money being spent on what poor people need. You know, housing, not hotels, but real social housing and this is a campaign that will escalate. We have more targets in mind and we'll continue hitting those targets."

This latest vandalism follows a weekend protest that involved paint being splashed on the 2010 Olympic countdown clock…and last year's trashing of the premier's offices at Canada Place.

Can't they Arrest Him?

If someone gives a press conference saying, "We will continue to break into homes in North Vancouver until we're finished with our campaign," aren't you admitting a crime?

How can he even be issuing statements like this?

Anti-poverty activists vandalize Premier Campbell's Vancouver office

The Canadian Press

VANCOUVER - Anti-poverty activists have vandalized the Vancouver constituency office of B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell.

David Cunningham of the Anti-Poverty Committee says paint in the Olympic colours was splashed on the building to protest against the 2010 Games and the lack of social housing.

He says the attack is the committee's response to the provincial budget, which he says made no effort to assist poor people in need or build decent housing.

"Why we went to the premier's office was to protest the budget, the lack of any real money being spent on what poor people need, you know, housing, not hotels but real social housing," Cunningham told a local radio station.

Cunningham notes the Liberals have bought what he calls some "crummy" hotels for social housing, but that's not good enough. - if you don't want crummy, get a job and buy your own house! you should be grateful for what we're giving you!

"This is a campaign that will escalate," he said. "We have more targets in mind and we'll continue hitting those targets."

Last week, the Olympic countdown clock in downtown Vancouver was also splashed with paint and last year activists attacked Campbell's cabinet office in the city.

Last month, members of the Anti-Poverty Committee heckled Governor General Michaelle Jean during a visit to Vancouver's poverty-stricken Downtown Eastside.

B.C. Solicitor-General John Les is not amused by the antics.

Three protesters were arrested last May when Campbell's Vancouver cabinet office was targeted.

"I think their behaviour is particularly reprehensible," Les said in Victoria.

He said it was offensive when the first such attack occurred.

"It happening again means that perhaps they're being out on bail was a mistake in the first place," he told reporters. (News1130-CKNW)

He was. Last year, they tricked him into thinking he was meeting a reporter for an interview at International Village. Instead, he was arrested by the police....and given a restraining order for all government/VANOC officials, their homes, their families, and all Olympic related sites and venues.

Well, he does have a restraining order for that too.....but it doesn't mean his APC minions can't go near them and their offices.

Thomas "Bady Baby" Malenfant seems to be the new leader for the minions at these public events. You may remember that he was one of the three people that vandalized the Premier's office at Canada Place last year, and he's the chubby guy (on the left) with the glasses at last week's countdown clock incident:

Hahaha.

What does the APC desire? For every bum to have a roof over his head?

If that's the case. I'll quit my job, drop out of school, and sit on the side of the street with a needle in my arm, a cup in my lap and a dog by my side and I will DEMAND FREE SHELTER too.

I hope they don't start protesting in the Ecodensity meeting next week at city hall (it's opened to the public)...

They don't even need to, that meeting is going to be a mess no matter what.

LOL Very true... when's is the meeting (like time and date) next week again? Maybe I should go and see what they have to say, or make comments of my own. I don't see why they are so negative about ecodensity...

Anyway back on topic. We should TRASH the APC OFFICE when they have their meetings heeeheee

The needle exchange building has enough problems without you trashing it.

Ironically, you'd probably get arrested for trashing the APC office.

No kidding. The police do exactly the opposite of what they are supposed to. There should have been a riot squad at the clock, and there should have been a huge police presence at the office as well. They really need to work on their "rapid response."

Okay, I'll be honest and I really don't like Gordon Campbell, but come on now! Okay, this is away to get heard, but believe me, this is not helping your "cause." It's making it worse and bringing shame onto the people who actually can't work..

Grow up, get a job because you know you can. I think McDonald's is hiring! I can get you some application forms!
