It's only a stump now, but it's going to dwarf some of the smaller buildings around there soon enough...

I was going to say it's going to "Trump" the other buildings around there, but thought that'd be silly...oh wait, I just did...lol!

This seems kind of low profile with skyscraper geeks considering how tall it is.

Well... One of the reasons this thread is kinda dead and slow is because the construction is still in early phases and moving slowly. There is no cladding to talk about or design feats so it's slow....

But things are picking up at Trump... The parking levels are done and its the pouring of (i believe) the 10th floor above ground....

Yes this building is tall but it's quite considering it's size and location (surrounded by other dwarfing skyscrapers)

Let's revive this thread!!!

I just think Toronto forumers dont spend all that much time here, they 'hang out' at UT or SSC instead. Toronto skyscrapers just don't seem to get the same sort of attention that say, Chicago skyscrapers do. They seem to generate hundreds of pages of posts on every aspect of each new building. People will go on and on about every single piece of re-bar that goes into the tower, or they'll go on and on and on about architechural history for page after page, comparing the current U/C tower to older ones (see the Elysian thread)... but here in good old Toronto, a few posts per day (or week) seems to suffice. Having said all that, I can't explain why...

What are they going to do with that small brick building next door? Will it become part of Trump or is it something else?

In my opinion they should have destroyed that brick building so that the Trump site could have been a little bigger... That way Trump would have a larger impact on the skyline... But what can we do now... right?

Peace

Trump gets little attention even on the busier forums. It's a combination of too much else happening and Trump being little more than a concrete parkade at this point. The same can be said for the Four Seasons and Shangri-la. Eventually, there will be plenty to complain about Trump.
