PHOTO CONTEST #3: Victorian Architecture

As photoLith was the winner of Photo Contest #2, it was his choice to pick the topic of the next contest. He chose Victorian Architecture, so there you have it! Entries can be submitted via private message to me up until next Monday, September 24th. Voting will begin a day or two after that, and the poll will be open for roughly a week's time.

Rules, as always:

Submissions can either contain the photo itself or an embedded link. Like last time, I may just decide to host them on my own account, as it actually makes it a lot easier to make them a relatively similar size... Also, please try to keep photoshopping to a minimum, guys. A little can go a long way! Haha

I'd love to see more submissions than were entered for the past photo contest, so let's make this one a great one!

Lastly, only one entry per forumer, please!

Simply PM me with the photo or the link, and it's all good.

Aaron (Glowrock)

You never know, there could be a spoiler entered by another forumer!

Speaking of assholes, you still don't think I'm worthy of a get to know your SSP photographers session, dude? Hell, I think I at least deserve a guest appearance for bringing back the photo contests!

When I was running a photo contest at Flickr:Thunder Bay, my policy was that a photographer couldn't win twice; if they happened to, the choice would default to the runner up. Also there was only maybe two dozen active participants in that so the pool of talent was really small and I wanted as many people to have a chance as possible.

To clarify, I think youre a pretty damn good photog. What I had stated is that I do not think you have really developed a unique Glowrock style yet. Style comes with time. Just keep doing what youre doing and I have no doubt that you will be amongst the ranks eventually.

And thanks for all the hard work reviving the photo contest and Meet your SSp photogs.

One piece of advice about your photography - Push it further. And dont just take a picture, instead envision a scene the way you want it and bring it to life.

If there were prizes I could see this. But since there arent and its just for fun I really dont care. i just know chris is pretty bad ass in this particular area and will blow most of us out of the water. But there could be an upset.

I'm not sure I'll want to sift through my 10,000s of pics to find one that won't even get more than my vote
I think I'll wait until the next one and sit this one out

I think the category is fine, but it is a no win for Photolith. If he wins, people will say it's only because he cherry picked a theme for his style. If he loses then he looks defeated in something he should have easily won. Kinda like fighting a girl. As for vid's comment, I don't think there have been any dynasties yet. Maybe if someone wins multiple in a row.

Also, if it's not too much to ask, can we get the winning shot gallery updated?

The photo contest winners retrospective thread has been updated with the first two winners of the reinstated contest, Okayyou. Happy now?

Hrmmm, after walking the streets for three straight days I've discovered Edmonton has no Victorian architecture. Time to find a hot babe named 'Victoria' and submit a photo of her

Sorry for the lateness of this, but I've been out of town and basically away from my computer for the last few days. I'll get the photos and the voting going for this photo contest by this evening!
