Has anyone heard anything about this proposal? I looked up the case number on the HRM website and nothing came up...

This proposal is actually quite tall for that location, definitely a good addition for Dartmouth. Anybody know what is going on with this?

Practically none of the development material is updated on the Halifax.ca website.

I've quite literally searched every development witha case number in HRM and nothing is up-to-date its so fustrating. For example 6955 Bayers is contradicting itself. One page it says it two-eight-storey buildings and on the next is says its one-sixteen-storey building. And on top of that it hasn't been updated since May (?)!

Since i now have the person who updates the planning website's email address I am going to email him tomorrow and request some updates.

When I was curious about the Southgate Village proposal i emailed Mr. Outhit (the councillor for the area) which he then forwarded to Andrew Bone. I got a nice reply so if you are curious about a specific proposal i would suggest either emailing the districts councillor (Jim Smith for this threads proposal) or emailing Mr. Bone directly;

I didn't realize the size of this. I emailed the contact on the sheet to find out more. The architect is the same as Garden Crest Apartments.

Shouldn't this thread be in the downtown section too? It's within the circumferential.

Yeah, it should be in downtown... I was suprised to find this proposal. Remember, Armoury Square was only 10 floors and is now highly visible in skyline shots... this proposal has potential add great height to the Dartmouth waterfront area.

I'm not excited by this. I'm anticipating ugly, cheap, and crammed in. However, an optimist cannot be pleasantly surprised. JET

"Crammed in" buildings give a city an urban feel and isn't always a bad thing. I think it will be hard to look cheaper and uglier than the buildings nearby.

Who knows, this thing could be dead in the water because of the financial turmoil.

I would say its probably set aside till things become better.

This project has resurfaced. Council is deciding wether to ammendment the Dartmouth MPS to allow this project to continue onto the Development Agreement step tomorrow night.

Here's a link of what is going before council tomorrow night on this.

By my estimate based on the elevation renderings this building would be approximately 30m tall. Does that seem reasonable for a 12st building?

Seems a little low. Judging by other buildings in the city I'd say more like 35-40, but I could be wrong.

I re-read the document and I think I was mistaking 9's for 8's so based on the new count the ceiling on the twelvth floor would be 33m plus a metre or two for the actual roof so I'm guessing 35m now.

It looks alright. Nothing amazing. As long as quality materials are used I will be happy.
