OMG, it's actually U/C? I never got the design but the tower looks ok. Now that I see the renderings it makes sense. Looks like it has legs. Wasn't there a smaller version too?

@tom: how many km or miles are there between dubai and abu dhabi?

This distance seems by car to be correct. When I was in Dubai, I wanted to visit Abu Dhabi as well. I didn't made it, cause it was too far, of about some 100km far away and too long time on road, which I used only to see Dubai, but I would love to live in Abu Dhabi some day... Then I would have a chance to see wonderful bldgs like those personally, why not visiting the welcoming Emirates Palast as well, while in Al-Burj Hotel (Burj-al-arab) is quite impossible for normals like me.
