Napa is amazing. I recently went to Tuscany and I THINK I might like Napa better.

Good stuff, stepper. I haven't been into Napa in a long while. I hadn't seen all that new development along the river. The building right next to the grassy public area (which is also new since I've been there) with the green tents outside used to house a pretty good restaurant. I have to make it up there to see if that's still the case.

I'm surprised you didn't include Calistoga. It's like St. Helena's more rugged twin.

Love that wine country. It's a large part of the lifestyle in Nor Cal with most of it being within an hours drive from San Francisco. I particularly like the Russian River wine country region myself, and close Dry Creek, Alexander Valley and the town of Healdsburg.

Thanks for the comments!

Napa Valley is a beautiful place to spend a day or weekend or however long you want. I was surprised how quiet downtown Napa seemed. Granted, I was there on a Sunday afternoon and there was a Home & Garden show across the river at the fairgrounds with a lot of people. But, with the exception of the restaurants along or near the river and a few specialty stores, there didn't seem to be too much in the way of shopping to bring people downtown. Even the mall wasn't very interesting. Maybe Friday & Saturday nights bring the restaurant crowd.

As far as Calistoga, I have heard a lot of great things about it. Just haven't been up past St. Helena the times I've been up that way. Another place on my list!
