hôtel Waldorf-Astoria 2011

Un premier hôtel Waldorf-Astoria ouvrira ses portes au Canada en 2011

La Presse Canadienne

MONTREAL _ La chaîne hôtelière Hilton ouvrira un établissement de sa bannière de luxe Waldorf-Astoria Collection à Montréal en 2011, un investissement de 200 millions $ US.

Hilton Hotels Corporation s'est associée dans ce projet avec l'entreprise immobilière montréalaise Investissements Monit.

L'hôtel aura 32 étages et comprendra 250 chambres et 76 résidences, de même que 15 000 pieds carrés d'espaces de bal et de réunion, de restauration, de détente et d'exercice.

Il s'agira du premier établissement de la bannière Waldorf-Astoria au Canada.

Le Waldorf-Astoria Montréal sera situé au 1500, rue Sherbrooke Ouest, près de la rue Guy.

C'est une bonne nouvelle mais celle-çi n'est pas confirmé sur le site de la chaîne. Du moins, j'ai eu beau chercher, je n'ai rien trouvé.

I'd like here to pinpoint that the rendering is from another project on the same site from few years ago. It's too early to tell if Waldorf-Astoria will accept this design as it is or will come with a totally different design.

c'est bizarre, dans la note sur yahoo, ce vieux rendu mort et enterré...

et je savais pas que Waldorf-Astoria était une bannière. je connaissais juste le gros mammouth art déco à NY.

J'ai tout de même ouvert un fil à ce sujet dans la section mid-size proposal -il est temps que nous étendions notre fierté en dehors des limites de cette section régionale.
J'ai d'ailleurs récemment ouvert un autres fil : pour le Louis-Bohème. Il est grand temps que le reste de la communauté SSP sache qu'il se passe des choses à Montréal et j'ai mis à jour le fil du 400 Sherbrooke Ouest (les deux dans la section mid-size construction).

Wow... we really dodged a bullet with our Waldorf=Astoria - gorgeous, glassy modern, design, and it's a supertall.

This one isn't bad, though - it's an interesting design, and it relates well to the historic building in front of it. It's obviously inspired by the Waldorf's original building in NYC, but it also looks like a doublemint version of One Atlantic Center in Atlanta.

ce bâtiment ressemble drôlement à l'architecture new-yorkaise, vous ne trouvez pas?

Un hôtel de 200 milions c'est toujours une bonne nouvelle. Avons-nous des informations sur la capacité hôtelière de Montréal actuellement? La demande fait-elle si pression sur l'offre?

Il y a tellement de nouveaux hotels dans la région de Montréal récemment que je me demande si l'offre ne sera pas bientôt trop grande pour la demande réelle. En effet, on n'a qu'à penser au Hilton Garden Hill qui est présentement en construction et tous les autres: le Westin, L'Étoile Embassy Suites, les projets condos-hotel comme le Crystal de la Montagne, etc.

On verra bien comme ça va aller, je suis toujours content de voir de nouveaux projets annoncés. Savez vous si les 32 étages seront réservées à l'hotel?

NOTE : Le vieux rendu ne sera pas nécessairement le design qu'aura l'hotel mais j'aimerais bien que ça soit le cas, ce projet est magnifique.

En fait ce sont les hôtels plus anciens qui vont en baver. Le marché hôtellier est très compétitif. Ceux qui ne rénovent pas leurs chambres devront baisser les tarifs ou subir des baisses d'occupation.

Je ne peux pas en parler plus mais je vous dit seulement qu'un des plus gros projets hotelliers jamais réalisé au Québec sera annoncé a l'automne si tout va bien. Dans le secteur de Griffintown

Il y a encore beaucoup de place vu que le marché est présentement occupé par de vieux hôtels ( Sheraton, Holiday Inn, Queen Elizabeth, etc.) construits dans les années 70 et 80.

De plus, le marché montréalais a longtemps été sous-estimé par les investisseurs internationaux et c'est maintenant le retour du balancier.
Le marché hotellier est considéré comme plus sûr que les bureaux par les grands investisseurs immobilier.
