Keeping my fingers crossed. Hell, I might actually like Rogers for a day if this comes to fruition.

MONTREAL | 701 University | 31 + 15 FLOORS

An office complex right on University street, in the International Quarter, between Old Montreal and Downtown. The project is approved but is still waiting for a major tenant for the go ahead, so far nothing.

Original plans:

New renderings (much better too)

http://www.magil-laurentian.com/fr/701U_fr.pdf[/IMG]

The 31 and 15 floor buildings will have 1,7 million square feet of office space. At 31 floors the building should spire to at least 124m (407ft) to perhaps 140m (458ft)!

^Its possible. But obviously not confirmed, and if they are they're not the major tenent they're looking for

The 1st tower is 33 floors, the second is 19, although it looks taller.

I like the height and all but can someone please tell me why 90% of all Montreal projects these days are either flamboyant post-modern gothic revival condos or 80's office towers?

^I have to agree with you there Rico. I would have hoped for something cooler given the neighbours. Love Bourse. One of my favourite buildings in Montreal.

The 19-story tower has some rather tall looking floor heights for the first five stories. Any ideas on the usage of those floors?

My guess would be office space in the lower floors and hotel & residences on top ?
Very ordinary design : generic at best. Not tall enough. This site should get a 50 stories building.

A waste of a prime real estate lot. Pity, because I like the green roofs.
