^^^ Yes, we should built a stockade of JHC's all the way around downtown for defense against tribal raiders...

Thumbs up The John Hancock Tower is in my top 10!

The Chicago Hancock Tower is my top 10 of Chicago Skyscrapers. Khan did an excellent job of saving steel by using the "X" design.

Any pictures of the inside? I know there's a grocery and a pool. Are the condos modern?

^^^ They were modern when it was built, but nearly all the condos have been renovated and refinished in some way since then. Though some people have put ugly crap like molding (amongst other pomo crap) in their units, I think most of them have been remodeled to a modern state.

JHC always had that modern, industrial cool going on, but it just looks positively bad-ass from that angle. (A little bit Blade Runner- esque, too.)

The Hancock, more so than any other tower in Chicago, best encapsulates the essence and spirit of the city for me. It is strong, elegant, and subtly sophisticated. A classic. Here are some images I have taken of it recently:

Never seems to be a bad angle or perspective with that building.

I just posted some slides under Chicago Development thread.
I thought I'd post this one here in the JHC thread as well.

An amateur slide I came across on ebay.
It's really rare to come across pics of JHC under construction.
I usually just see the same 2 or 3 pics over and over.
