Perhaps not too far from Starsky Ave. and Hutch St. in Beacon Hill?

I think for this area of Barrhaven, someone just grabbed a London underground map and checked the northern line

Being from London UK, I chuckle everytime when the bus 71 announces the bus stops Edgeware and Colindale.
Others in the same area are Burnt Oak, Harrow, Whitechapel, Rayners Lane, Hornchurch
In other areas I have Finchley (I used to live there in London and this street is not far from where I live in Barrhaven ). There's also Upney, Upminster, Gospel Oak, Queensbury. I'm sure there are more.

Jina, that's a tried-and-true street-naming method, as this older suburb demonstrates.

So the strictest translation would be Chianti Grove Way .....
That's what I thought. But does that mean the streets signs should read rue Via Chianti Grove Street?

ahah I did not know about that one . Cheers for that

Regarding the Longfields sub, I read before in the newspaper, many months ago (maybe a year ago) that there were to be commercials on the ground floor of the appartments and Longfields would have been like a town centre. That would have been great. It was also mentioned that the Elliott Trudeau school was to be moved further, but I don't see that happening.

Would be greater, if instead of building things in suburbs that were *like* town centres, they actually built, you know, town centres.

And not Centrums.

But look at all of the different kinds of Centra we could be building?

Just for pure hellery, I'd love to put together architectural renderings for a new Centrum, somewhere - the where is utterly interchangeable - that is a faithful, eight-storey, "mixed-use" and, naturally, "vibrant" replica of a bottle of Centrum vitamins.

Centrum Silver, maybe.

Welcome to Centrum Silver, Ottawa's newest, most vibrant master-planned piece of suburban crap. It's no better than any of the other suburban crap we've been building for the past forty years, but it's got one hell of a good visual pun going on.

would you include a couple of "flavour bursts" in the mix, just for added vibrationcy?

All part of the community benefits package.

That, and the nearby cell tower will be ribbed for her or his pleasure.

What about fictional characters, though? Who wouldn't want to live on James Bond Street?
Or real-life celebrities? William Shatner Blvd, instead of Confederation Boulevard....
Shatner's already got a street in Kanata named for him.

Not really the best conditions or weather to go about taking pictures, was it?

nah... just was walking from a friend's house to the Barley Mow and took a few snaps Lots of dirt and service connections everywhere. The Highbury Park Drive bridge looked to be near complete, but was closed to pedestrian traffic. The Highbury connection to Greenbank is not complete yet but prep work for the Greenbank widening/grade separation is underway (hydro lines have been relocated, trees torn down)

If you want to experience the true ambience of Barrhaven you need to go to Greenfields.....it is ripe for an episode of Bar Rescue.

^ I'll have to try it sometime... Barrhaven options are fairly limited beyond the major chains.

The central pathway and transit stations make this part of Barrhaven much more walkable/bikeable. Although there are still questionable design decisions such as dumping pathways into intersections/crosswalks
