Slowhawk College, I think if you couldn't make it to Brock, you went to Mohawk.

Having something at that corner will make a massive difference to the aesthetic appeal of Mohican College. Great stuff.

Mohicans are Algonquian while Mohawk are Iroquoian. (unless wikipedia is lying, which it might be doing. . .)

Anyway, nice to see things growing. Hopefully they'll be expanding the teaching staff too, more jobs are always good.

That corner of West 5th and Fennel is gonna look really different once both this and the St. Joe's project are done. I wonder if the HSR will re-route some additional nearby routes into the transit part or just keep the 35 and 20 going into it.

And the Auchmar Estate restoration is well underway across the street on the other corner, which is gonna be another big change along with those two projects.

The Mohawk Mobility Hub, St. Joes, and the Auchmar restoration are all supposed to be complete in 2014. That's gonna be a great year for this intersection.

Hmmm I thought Mohican was the adjective form of Mohawk. I stand corrected. I was being a d*ck anyway so it's only fair.

I had to look it up to be sure. I just remembered the Last of the Mohicans movie took place in New England region and the Mohawks are more Great Lakes.

I like learning new things. Perhaps I ought to read the book.

Anyway, I will continue to refer to that particular school as Mohican College just the same.

Thanks Mr MacIssac for your vision and hard work.

p.s. Please run for mayor when you get tired of the post-secondary scene.

if ever an area were ripe for some commercial development....you'd think a rezoning of the houses between Mohawk and James would be in order.

We talk about the potential of downtown ad nauseum here but there are many parts of the mountain - particularly the areas near the escarpment - that are ripe for some proper development. The area around Mohawk could be one of them.
