the cladding on this building makes my heart skip thinking of the potential for recladding some of the old box towers that blight so many skylines. great shot too

That glass is amazing!

Seriously, this is why NY is unlike any other city in the world.
Remarkable architecture!

A true gem of a tower, came out better than even the renders.

This has got to be one of my favorite facades ever built on anything. Ridiculous.

Some critics, the ones who aren't so smart would take one look at this tower and say it's too short and just a box.

But for those of us who appreciate that this is no ordinary box, we are the winners here.

Imagine if every box in the city had something in particular that made them unique, then they would stand out (and I'm not talking about height either).

This tower is a perfect example of how to design a box that everyone admires.

I wonder how the interior is designed.

^ totally. i love how it's a purpose-built gem exchange tower with a cladding illustrating its function, such a grandiose throwback to another era of construction, when building functions would be sign-posted in some idealized way in the built form.

As far as glass boxes go, it's got a great facade with diamondy stuff on it. It ain't no Chrysler Building.

Love the facade, but this should have been WAY taller! Like twice the height! It's a shame people have to look down to see it, almost missing it. Many of the shots you see from The Rock don't even include this one because they're taken of the skyline above it.

lmao, i taught about such initiative during the proposal of the stimulus bill...what if there was a tax write off for owners to reclad their building by leed standards, virtually modernizing skylines across america during a time of slow construction. kind of like cash for clunkers...what an amazing effect it would have, on all fronts.
