Chicago is my kind of town!

I have been putting this off but these are some photos I took of Chitown from about a month ago.

I live in 'Crapsville' Arkansas but Im trying to get an internship up in the city for the summer. I am a geology major at Arkansas Tech and am looking at going into consulting and I just know that there has to be some sort of internship up there pertaining to that. I most def want to live there after college or some big city because this redneck state is driving me up the wall crazy. I grew up in Chicago, then Dallas, then Chicago, then Dallas, and finally Houston lol and am kicking myself in the butt for going to college here. I thought it would be nice to get out of the city for a while but now I want to go back more than anything in the world! I would do anything to work there over the summer just to get out of this close minded town and state. I had forgotten just how much I loved Chicago since I haven't lived there for almost 9 years and was only a wee lad when I did live there. This website has really made me realize that Chicago is where I want to be, I just wish I would have realized this at an earlier point in time, oh well. As for now enjoy these photos.

My most favorite building in the whole world ever! The Wrigley Building, its beauty and elegance are just mind boggling. I think one of my first memories is probably of this building when I lived there so long ago.

Hope you guys enjoyed the photos, more to come later as I finish editing them.

Great shots. I hope you can land up job here. I hate to admit it, but I barely exaggerate when I say like half the people I met in Houston were geologists - so based on my anecdote, there's probably a much bigger market there for the profession, at least in the private sector, though of course it will depend on exactly what you do.

Well I dont mind winding up in Houston as it is a huge city also but it just doesnt have the feel that Chicago has obviously but I am not really looking at going into the oil and gas industry as they are evil heartless monsters lol. There is a company called CH2MHill that employs many geologists and they have a major office in Chicago so I was hoping to get an internship with them but who knows. I still have 8 months until the summer and a lot could come up between then and now.

Gorgeous photos -- every one of them. If geology doesn't work out, maybe you should get into photography.

Superb photos. The one of Trump looking up Wabash is stunning. Hopefully, you'll be able to move here and we'll be treated to more of your work.

Ok, Aqua. Do those "fins" have any purpose, or are they just for aesthetics?

Great shots, but where are the larger versions?

Yes. They are floorplates, balconies, and provide solar shading for the building in accordance with the glazing on the glass.
