North American Road Trip / Part 4 / Minnesota to Vancouver

Part 1: Vancouver to Ottawa http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=159078
Part 2: Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=159344
Part 3: Chicago to Minnesota http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=159668

Day 18: We're starting out in the middle of nowhere, Minnesota

Missouri River

Crossing it

After entering South Dakota (state 6 of 10), we found an abandoned town.

A monumnet to creationism? Around here, wouldn't doubt it.

It was super hot, windy, and dry.

Badlands

Eek

98.6 F... the ideal temp of a human body O.o

There was thunder and lightening in the distance and I was standing on the highest point for miles and miles.

Carried this bugger for a couple states.

Rapid City, South Dakota

Behind Mount Rushmore, essentially, a nice change in geography from the rest of the state.

Time to pitch a tent, build a fire, and kick back with the old guitar.

Day 19: Drove through Custer State Park.

Traffic jam, SD style.

"Why don't we do it in the road?" - The Beatles

A turkey. I almost ran it over.

Cave explorin'

George looking presidential while Ted and Abe eskimo kiss.

I was too cheap to pay 10 bucks and go up and get the good view, so instead Abe has a beard of trees.

Well that's nice of them. (State 7 of 10)

Big Horn Mountain Pass is pretty damn nice.

Some future XP standard backgrounds?

Moo.

Looks like a fun drive.

Smoke from a forest fire near Yellowstone.

Old West

Second time caught speeding.

In Yellowstone after sunset.

Blury, but you get the idea just how many stars you can see.

Day 20: Old Faithful

It was mostly a disappointment

State 8 of 10

Berkley Pit, Butte, Montana

State 9 of 10

Spent the night in Spokane, Washington (state 10 of 10)

Day 21: Final Day, headed home throught Washington State and then over the border to Vancouver!

Bellevue, Washington

Customs.

Home.

Thanks for viewing.

Crap. Places that I would've considered dull and boring look completely awesome. Just goes to show you that you can't judge a place without having actually been there. I got the urge to travel now but it will have to wait til summer.

First, I'm insanely jealous of your road trip. I saw all four of your threads and I hope to do a continental road trip one of these days, but for now I'm settling for small weekend getaways. Second, your photography is awesome. I wanted to post my favs but there are too many to list. Great job. Must have been one hell of a trip.

Man, this really makes me realize how I wasted my summer. I'm jealous.
