personally I'd feel safer in Pine Bluff then some areas of NYC, Chicago, LA at night time....

I'm not sure how useful this information is to the general population. There are some places with high rates of violent crime, but such crimes are heavily limited to certain areas. On the other hand, there are places where the riff raff comes to the downtown area and mugs people or seeks out middle-class neighborhoods for burglaries, etc.
