I know where this was taken. It's a highway with retail, hotels, etc., lining it. Driving-in, you can take the most attractive art deco tunnel (my opinion) into the city.

I seem to remember the mountains are called The Ramapo Mountains. They aren't very tall, but do add greatly to New York City's natural setting (as seen in this thread). When I visit family, I often hear and see the names of different things there. I remember hearing Ramapo Mountains many times.

These are all beautiful. Please continue to update this thread!
