Officially topped out or not, Barnett didn't wait...

http://www.constructionequipmentguid...l-Tower/18486/

ONE57 ‘Tops Out’ to Become Manhattan’s Tallest Residential Tower

Quote:

Extell Development Company held a “topping out” ceremony June 20 at ONE57, which, when completed, will reach a record 1,004 ft. (306 m), officially making it the tallest residential building in New York City. Since launching sales just six months ago, the building has achieved $1 billion in sales and is 50 percent sold.

Envisioned by a team of world-class talent, this architectural masterpiece will provide residents with unobstructed views of Central Park to the north, the famed Manhattan skyline to the south, and both Hudson and East Rivers. Interiors have been designed by New York-based Danish designer Thomas Juul-Hansen.

“The strong demand for this type of product has been seen in the record interest from both the United States and internationally,” added Barnett

(L-R) are Anthony Mannarino, executive vice president, Extell Development Company; Nick Grecco, senior vice president, Lend Lease Construction; Charlie Loskant, senior vice president, Extell Development Company; Jeff Dvorett, vice president, Extell Development Company; David Rothstein, executive vice president, Extell Development Company; and Ralph J. Esposito, managing director, New York, Lend Lease Construction.

^ It's certainly over 900 feet, my guess is around 930'.
Btw the building is already doing wonders for the sklyine... see below.

Across from Carnegie Hall and overlooking Central Park, it will be called One Fifty Seven (157 W. 57th Street) and stands 90 stories tall. The sale of the penthouse duplex will break all NYC real estate records.
It's already happening... "random" people believing the 90 storey number...

I don't know, but you need to qualify that question with some information about what is leading you to ask.

Hard to believe that in a few years it won't even be the most dominant tower in the area.

Look at that glass. People are going to be continually shocked as it catches some widespread prominence.
