I'll update this index (first post of this thread) from time to time with my recent tours.

It's quite interesting to see the architectural similarities and differences between Southern and Eastern Ontario.

Here are a few since I've moved:

Merrickville, Ontario (very well preserved 19th C village)
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=169848

Ottawa's Sandy Hill neighbourhood (lots of mansions and embassies)
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=169263

Hintonburg neighbourhood in Ottawa (working class)
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=168474

If there are a few more replies in the "Favourite Houses" thread, I will post a third round of amazing homes.

I've been going through some old photos and made another thread with never before seen Hamilton shots:

Now, Ottawa has the advantage of millions of people wanting to visit the capital every year, but I direct you to this thread to show some examples of how to do modern developments in an old, walkable neighbourhood:

I posted some new Hamilton photos, many grainy shots, but these are views that very few have ever seen.

Stop - giving me city envy.
I love the square of mostly old 3-story buildings around the farmers market. It reminds me of old pictures of the Hamilton market when it was still surrounded by retail.

The nice thing about Ottawa's market is that it is a few square blocks rather than a strip. Hamilton's old market looks like it would have been similar to the Byward Market. Today the Market is easily the best part of Ottawa, and they've done a great job with the infill and things like traffic calming and routing.

Fans of industrial photography might be interested in this. The Chemical Valley near Sarnia is about the only Canadian place I know that rivals Hamilton's massive industrial landscape:
