Taipei 101's name

It's been changed to TAIPEI 101, in all capital letters. Unless those letters stand for something, like as with an abbreviation, I don't think they should be all capitals.

I noticed that as well. Is that maybe how it is officially spelled or something?

I notice now that SS.com lists it as the WTB even though they said last month that they would not until it was "open" (which is next fall).

I'm not aware that it stands for anything. I think it should stay "Taipei."

I was the one who made the change. After seeing it reverted twice by other editors, I have now written an explanation in the building's description.

Techonology, Art, Innovation, People, Environment, and Identity building?
right............ :sly

The building is named after the city and the floor count, im sure the acronym came second.

How is the name writen on the outside of the building?
If it says the acronym above Taipei 101 e.g.

Techonology, Art, Innovation, People, Environment, and Identity
--------------------------Taipei 101---------------------------

then its ok to capitalise it.

But if it says it below e.g.

--------------------------Taipei 101---------------------------
Techonology, Art, Innovation, People, Environment, and Identity

or if it doesnt even say the acronym at all then it should just be listed as Taipei 101, and just put the acronym in the additional names section.

If the building's name is an acronym, then either it would be spelt T.A.I.P.E.I. 101, or we would pronounce it T-A-I-P-E-I 101, which I doubt is the case.

They may not speak English in Taiwan, but we do on this website.

It should be "Taipei 101" but have the acronym in the building's description.

Jonny, the name is written as 'TAIPEI 101'.

It need not be pronounced that way, but I've seen the name spelled in all caps in all official PRs, logos, etc.

There need not be periods between the individual letters to be an acronym. There are examples of many in common usage without them: Radar (radio detection and ranging), Sonar (sound navigation and ranging), ETA (estimated time of arrival), SNAFU (*&!@#+*%), etc.

Definate Small letters. The so called acronym is an obvious advertising ploy for the building and is not the name of the building.

It's called Taipei 101 all over the official website.
Not once does it say TAIPEI.

CITIC is ther name of the developer (they name the buildings in the same way as Donald Trump).

SAFTI is an acronym of Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute.

I've no idea what the ZHITIC in ZHITIC Mansion stands for.
Skyscrapers.com has a different name for the building.
