I dont know if it is, I would imagine it is since there is still a giant commercial for it on the side of one of those buildings near Basin Park. When was the last time you came here?

I went through there a few times and stayed there in 70's on vacation with the parents.

I remember making the Branson rounds, going to Eureka Springs and Dogpatch USA in my younger years.

That was back before ES was the "cool" spot....i think. Would love to re-visit!

Great picture tour!!

Is this the guy who built the big statue of Christ on a mountain and I think has a passion play outside of ES?

If you took out the Harleys and the monster trucks you could almost envision Europe in those photos. I was there when I was 10. I remember loving the place for its buildings and geography. Thanks for the tour, brought back a lot of good memories.

What an entertaining thread. Great looking town. Kinda reminds me a bit of Harpers Ferry, WV.

Love the variety of styles in the pics too, thanks pll.

Excellent tour of Eureka Springs!! I wish I had the time to go out there and take pictures when I was in Arkansas last July!! I just didn't have the time or money to take an extra day to do it. However, your thread would have blown mine out of the water. You captured the expression and personality of that town. BTW, I had some real close friends that I went to school with that were from Harrison. It's a nice town as well, aside from the KKK headquarters being there, (wherever the hell it is).

One of the pictures you posted, you said was the Flat Iron Bldg. Was that a typo, or was it really built in 1985? They did a hell of a job if that was the case!!

They did a few years ago when I went to the passion play. It's in one of the town squares.

Yes, that building believe it or not was built in 1985. They did a damn good job at it. This is one of the few small towns Ive been to where they actually built a building the old fashioned way and did a spot on recreation. There were 2 buildings there before, both burnt down and this modern one takes styles from both of the former buildings. The only other place that i have seen where they have rebuilt an historic looking building to this detail is in El Dorado, AR. Although, Im sure it happens in a lot of places.
