Or maybe he's talking about their newest album - the one that's now #1, and that Rolling Stone calls their best since Achtung Baby. They're probably not the band they once were, but they're far from irrelevant.
It's interesting that they're going back to BC Place for the Vancouver show. If memory serves correctly, they didn't sell out their last show there in 1997. I guess they're serious about making sure there are cheap(ish) tickets available. I remember not being blown away with the sound in the dome at PopMart, but the atmosphere and the spectacle were incredible. Elevation and Vertigo were both great shows.

Ticketmaster pretty much just sells the tickets at whatever price the market will bear. If it sold them for less than the market valued them at, someone else would just resell them. You should spend your time wishing the events you want to attend become less popular if you want to spend less.
