What did they get, a 9th grade kid to do their graphics designs? those are some of the worst renderings I have ever seen.

This looks like one of those rare cases where the building will turn out better than the renders.

I still find it quite odd that VANOC would put the training venue all the way out in Surrey....and that this is Surrey's excuse for declaring itself an Olympic Venue City.

Foreigner: Surrey's an Olympic venue city? What is it hosting???

Local: It's a volunteer training centre.

Foreigner: .......

Nevertheless, it'll be a great legacy for Surrey.

Looks good. My guess is that the wall with the small windows is meant to be added onto in the future.

i.e. expanded in 5 or 10 years.... when the community centre (?) / whatever use needs more space.

Exactly, I can't even find one for Westin Wall Centre.

Hey, what about the storage centre in Delta??

I think we were just saying that choosing Surrey is a bit far and
the rendering is not professional enough....

Want me to quote it for you?

Well it's not a sports "training" venue per say. It's where all the Olympic volunteers from South of the Fraser and the Valley will be coached and stationed. Its actual name is the Games Preparation Centre, I believe.

The City payed the full cost to build this place, basically from an off-the-cuff last minute decision by the Mayor. It's already several months behind schedule. Basically just an opportunity for the City to get some limelight while the world has its eye on the region.

The rendering is fine with me. I don't know what expectations you have from a computer model...
