Doors Open 2009

Just got a message saying this year's guide book will be available for download within the next few days at www.doorsopenhamilton.ca

- - - -

As part of a province wide initiative from Ontario Heritage Trust, the 7th Annual Doors Open Hamilton event takes place on May 2nd & 3rd, 2009 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

The Doors Open program seeks to celebrate, educate and inform citizens and visitors of the importance of the architectural, cultural and historical sites in Hamilton by allowing visitors free access to properties that are either not usually open to the public, or would normally charge an entrance fee. Many locations organize guided tours, displays and activities to enrich the visitor experience.

In 2007 we opened 59 sites of architectural, heritage and cultural significance across the city with outstanding results - Over 28,000 site visits were recorded!

Certainly came out late this year.

Just checked out the list and was incredibly disappointed. Only 20 sites across the entire city. There was 3 times that many last year. Really disappointed.

That's weird. I had specifically made a note to go to the Sherman studios (I checked, it was on February 20th) when I looked at the website for the Imperial Cotton Centre listing it as a location for Doors Open Hamilton this year, and I have the same dates: (May 2-3) written down.

It's not on the Doors Open list at all, and I can't currently find it on their website. That's too bad if they're not on it anymore.
