Maybe I'm becoming a NIMBY, but we don't need "The Bow" and I can only see the countless Sci-Fi conventions that would take place in the Death Star.

I think Vancouver's got enough of those "glassy" buildings. What we need is something more along the line of Crysler building:

^ shhhh...please don't ruin our penis and boob/testicle envy right now.

I think there was a topic like this for the art gallery.

As for the "death star", i'd be ecstatic for that to be in this city.

Don't you remember? Vancouver doesn't NEED buildings like those!

Seriously though, great buildings. If only we would build some of those

All time favourite building, hands down. I think what we lack is layering in the buildings. All of the floors look the same. I look at even just Citypoint by Gateway and am impressed how some variation in the floor plates and layering different elements can impress upon even the simplest building.

I second that. Too many glass buildings in Vancouver. Makes us look like we're a "delicate" city or something. We need more buildings that have a "strong & powerful" character to it. Chrysler buildings we need more of here in Van. Or something like the Empire State Building ^^

I third EastVanMark and mr. x suggestion. That building is a beaut, I believe that is proposed in San Fran if I'm not mistaken? Anyones, I think The Ritz-Carlton would have been a great building in our skyline and those goofs at Holburn should do whatever they can to build Erickson's best design for the COV.

Also I think we have a few cool buildings being built, Woodwards, The Erickson, the convention centre (now complete), the new Van Dusen Gardens building. What we are missing is one SUPER TALL, 250 metres +. Seriously that won't screw up anyones views if we put it somewhere on the Eastside of downtown or something. Make it half office (25 floors) and the rest condos. Come on make it happen Vancouver!

Any chance we could get descriptions/labels/locations of said posted buildings?

And 3rded or 4thed or whatever to the Chrysler building as all-time favourite. I'd love to see something like that (doesn't need to be as tall obviously, but something 600'+) in place of the Canada Post building.
