Seakkle

I went to Seattle on Memorial Day weekend. Here are some pics (in the interest of full disclosure, 2 or 3 are from last Fall ). There are 4 panoramic ones in there that are clickable and link to the photo page on flickr where you can see a full-sized image (click "all sizes" at the top of the photo and choose "original" size).

Wow...what a way to show off a city. Excellent use of shallow depth of field, composition and symmetry. Where are you off to next?

How was transit? Its mainly a bus city, right?

It's mainly buses for now, but they do have a commuter rail line, a streetcar and they're opening light rail in July. The light rail is going to be pretty impressive I think. They'll be able to run 4-car trains and significant portions will be underground (through downtown and at the U of Washington, for example). The bus system has good ridership now, though. There were tons of people waiting at bus stops and I saw articulated buses everywhere in downtown. There's also a bus tunnel through the downtown area.

Oh great. I lost sleep (creating a crappy-in-comparison photo post) for nothing. Great photography though. I hope to have a real camera again soon.

I've seen most of these photos in flickr but I'll comment on them as a whole. I gotta say, seeing all your photos together is amazing. How do you get that black border anyhow?

You're making me so jealous to get a telephoto. I love the contrast of really everything. Artistic is each one of the photos. I love the really neat gum and graffiti stuff and well as the contrasting styles of architecture as well as the neat angles you introduced really to the urbanity of Seattle. Nice work.

Time to quit your job and become a photographer? .

To get the border, you just use {IMG=X}photo.jpg{/IMG} (pretend the sqiggly brackets are regular ones and "X" is a number depending on how thick you want the border to be... I used 4). And it might be time to quit my job, but I don't think I could make a living as a photographer!
