Lightbulb Add a construction in Paris

Basilique du Sacre-Coeur Paris [IMG]

La construction de cette basilique de style romano-byzantin dédiée au Sacré-Coeur fut déclarée d'utilité publique par l'Assemblée Nationale en 1873 et commencée en 1876 sur les plans d'Abadie largement inspirés de l'église St Front de Périgueux dont il fut le restaurateur. La construction s'achève en 1910 grâce à des souscriptions publiques et la basilique est consacrée en 1919.
Le Sacré-Coeur long de 100m et large de 50m est surmontée d'un dôme haut de 83m. Le campanile haut de 84 m abrite une cloche pesant 18.5 tonnes avec son battant de 850kg.L'intérieur renferme des trésors de décoration: sculptures en marbre, vitraux et mosaïques. Du parvis du Sacré-Coeur la vue panoramique domine tout Paris.
