Excellent thread!

I think it's interesting to see the houses being cominated by trees like in the early pictures. Usually it's the other way around. So many trees makes the place seem downright isolated, rural, and away from society, like a campground.

I've heard about that Cal-Neva resort. Apparently there's an underground tunnel system to allow mob people to enter and leave the building without being seen or caught, back when casinos were run by the mob.

Bee-utiful. I love circumnavigating the lake and stopping in the various small towns, like King's Beach. They remind me of my childhood summers in Tahoe when life was much simpler.

Awesomeness... always enjoy your photo threads. How warm does Lake Tahoe get in the summer?

And boy do I love Char-Pit! That is reason enough to go to Tahoe.
I love how Lake Tahoe is full of non-chain eateries.

Beautiful shots and I love the height of those NoCal trees, just awesome. I drove from San Francisco to Portland along HWY 1 and just fell in love with it all. I need to check out Lake Tahoe some time.

The funny thing is after I took this photo we walked further down the street and the other side of the sign IS for KFC. But, the place didn't like it was open or occupied at all, so, I don't really know what it was.

It can get relatively warm in Tahoe in the summer, like 80s-90s, depending. But, it needs to be pretty warm to get in the water. It's one of the coldest lakes I've been in.

^Although, there are areas where shelves make large shallow areas. These get quite warm. It depends on the beach you go to.

Simply Beautiful! Flown over it many times, however I need a "land" visit.

Love all the local businesses.

Absolutely Beautiful shots! I much prefer the north side of Lake Tahoe over the south side. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent photos! One of these days I'll bring my camera when I go skiing and do a winter on the slopes sort of thread. If that was the KFC in South Lake Tahoe; I used to work there as a teenager! (Good & Bad memories)
