Part 2 - The Road Trip - **Ellensbug, WA**

Hee hee... Would someone correct the title for me? It should say "Ellensburg".

Here are more pictures taken from a road trip, weekend of May 17.

I last left you with a sign in Part 1 - Prelude to a road trip: Bellevue, WA

Continued

***Ellensburg!*** (Sing to the tune of "Hollywood") I guess this is technically "Thorp" but it's the landmark I always used to note my arrival or departure of the Ellensburg area.

Now it's Ellensburg, the sprawl...

Don't blink! "First & Last Chance Tavern"

Leaving Ellensburg from the fair grounds area I continued east to see what was over the hill.

Thank you for this thread. I went to grade school at Washington Elementary. I remember painting on those windows as a kid. I lived above the fairgrounds and would watch the rodeo from up above in the back yard. Memory Lane...

Every time I'm on my way to Walla Walla I stop in Cle Elum and Yakima but neglect Ellensburg and Wenatchee... I suppose this is a reminder to give them a look-see. Nice Work!

Iadoregon: You're welcome. The former Washington School is a real nice building. I can see why City Hall moved in. That, plus it looks like a short walk to CWU's administration building.

Sawtooth: Yea I liked that building too. Maybe I'll get to visit those other towns some day.

Hellachans: There's something psychologically satisfying about getting past those mountains south of Ellensburg when doing the Walla Walla or Tri-Cities trip.

Some neat stuff here. I miss Safeway. I need to move further West on this continent.
