Jacobsen is putting up a new tower crain in the coming weeks. It will replace the shorter crane on the northeast side of block 75. It will be along the east side of the entire block and run on tracks that are similar to train tracks.
Maybe that explains something I've been wondering about. They laid something like a road base on top of the cement running north and east of the regent. Maybe they'll put tracks on it for the crane. It could actually be in an "L" shape. Interesting idea.
I meant the ZCMI Block, It will run along the east side next to the Qwest building and the new food court.
Tower 1 has drywall hung up to the third floor. Does anyone know how they are marketing the units? I have been informed that units are sold in tower one, but i have not heard of any advertising for them.
No units have been marketed yet in Tower 1. Marketing was to have begun this fall, but was postponed to December, if I remember correctly. I could be wrong on the new date.

Could it be for the refacing of the old blank massive wall on the qwest building maybe?

I would have posted the post below this earlier but I havent gotten around to it due to some unfortunate events that have rattled this forum in the past week. Anyways thats behind us, and we are all moving on. BTW, sorry guys I asked about bringing the old CCC thread back with the other admins, and mods and they decided that the best thing was for us to lock it up, and move forward. Please dont PM them, or complain, because we are all moving forward together, and will respect our fellow forum members.

All photo credits go to the Cowboy Partners and Harmons Co.
btw parking is located above the store.
Now, I know what you are thinking. Tower 8 was suposed to be taller than that. I was thinking the same thing to. To me though these documents arent about the tower, they are about harmons. Harmons is the one asking for the approval of building setbacks and what not. The Tower is probably not a final design anyways, its more of a place holder and massing to give scale to the area. I bet we'll see a completely different product once its done. Who, knows we'll just have to wait and see.

thanks viper! Even if we get the tower in the rendering, that's not bad... Looks to be over 300 ft... I was actually under the impression that NOTHING was going there, so that's a pleasant surprise to me.
We still have the residential tower to look forward to as well. What is the social hall plaza office?

One of these days someone needs to go and take some pictures of tower 1 from inside temple square. I took some a few months back but never got around to posting them. I found them to be an interesting angle just south of the temple between the south visitor center. You get tower 1 rising above the trees.
I hope that they introduce some sort of 'green' roof to at least part of it. But, it doesn't look like it. The original plan called for a green roof. I think it would be great if they would design a landscaped green roof/park for the new residents of that block.
So how many levels does the store have? Is it on the First South level, or Social Hall level? Will you have to go down if you enter on the Social Hall level? How many parking levels? Is there supposed to be enough parking for the office tower? What is CUP?
